Judy grew up on Long Street and attended Northside Elementary, Rock Hill High School and Mars Hill College. Judy was married to Toby Dabney. She was the mother of 3 girls: Cammie, Cara, and Cristi. She especially enjoyed helping with homework. As Judy retired, she moved to a small cottage behind Cara’s home.
