Rock Hill – Mrs. Judy Robinson Bean, 72, of 228 Ward Drive, died Thursday, January 03, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC.

Services will be private. The family will receive friends 3 – 6 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2013, at the home of Duane and Cristi McCoy, 3241 Pine Tuck Lane, Rock Hill, SC.

Judy was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina to John Frank and Sadie Johnson Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: John Frank Robinson, Jr., Theodore Ray Robinson, Cecil Lloyd Robinson, Jerri Robinson Shelton, and Donald Wade Robinson and her son-in-law Christopher Marshall.

Judy grew up on Long Street and attended Northside Elementary, Rock Hill High School and Mars Hill College. Judy was married to Toby Dabney. She was the mother of 3 girls: Cammie, Cara, and Cristi. She raised her girls to be strong and independent. She instilled in her girls the virtue of unconditional love. As a mother, she modeled just that, love through any circumstance. There was never a limit to the love she had for each of her children.

Judy married George Bean in 1975. During her marriage to George, she became an active member of Our Savior Episcopal Church.

When Judy’s daughters left the nest, she moved to Florida with her daughter Cammie. She spent several years in Florida before moving back to Rock Hill. She lived with her youngest daughter, Cristi, for many years. She enjoyed helping in the upbringing of her grandchildren who affectionately called her Grandmother. She especially enjoyed helping with homework. As Judy retired, she moved to a small cottage behind Cara’s home.

Judy’s survivors include her daughters, Cammie Marshall of Florida, Cara Ward (Jimmy) and Cristi McCoy (Duane) both of Rock Hill. Her grandchildren: Jordy McCoy (Becky), Jared McCoy, Jeremy McCoy (Kristen), Trey Ward, Jade McCoy, Tanner Ward, Maggi Marshall, Lilli Marshall, Victoria Ward, and Nya-Grace Ward. Judy is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy Bean’s memory may be made to Harris Hospice Unit at Presbyterian Hospital PO Box 33549 Charlotte, NC 28233. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Harris Hospice Unit and to Judy’s doctors and their staff, especially Dr. Favaro and Dr. Dougherty.
